Doing Work That Matters: Who Are You Becoming?

The person you are becoming is far more important than the work you are doing.

I believe good character creates sustainable success.

How do you define character?

Character is how you treat people who can do nothing for you.

Investing in your character is playing the long game. It’s a long-term investment that will pay back a thousand fold.

You can definitely get ahead by stepping on other people. But if you want to be successful long-term, make your character count.

Your daily interactions with ordinary people will define the kind of person you are and will be.

Reputation is what people expect us to do next. It’s their expectation of the quality and character of the next thing we produce or say or do.

We control our actions (even when it feels like we don’t) and our actions over time (especially when we think no one is looking) earn our reputation.

Doing work that matters is developed by though character and will lead to a good reputation.

Does your work make you a better or bitter person?
