Practice: Does it make perfect?

Does practice makes perfect?

My seventh grade maths teacher, took issue with that. He insisted that:

“perfect practice makes perfect.”

You don’t get to be innovative by hiring a bureaucracy and giving them money (or money and time).

You do it by having the will to go to the edges, by having the will to be innovative and testing new things.

Having a budget for R&D is makes practice, having the will to innovative, fail, rise, rectify and test again until you get it right is what makes perfect practice.

Michael Jordan once said:

“You can practice shooting eight hours a day, but if your technique is wrong, then all you become is very good at shooting the wrong way. Get the fundamentals down and the level of everything you do will rise.”
