StartUp Tip #18: Who you hang out with

You have some kind of relationship with everyone you encounter.

Some relationships are extremely personal and some extremely professional.

Some are casual and on-the-surface relationships, and some are intimate and deep.

But every relationship you have influences you.

There are no neutral relationships.

Each one lifts you up or weights you down.

It moves you forward or holds you back.

It helps you or hurts you.

Who you hang out with can make the difference between a great life and a miserable existence.

Relationships can launch us into heights of excellence and achievements we never dreamed possible or keep us down in the dumps, tethered to mediocrity for a long time.

When your life started taking a knock, rewind and reflect who came into your life when the knock started. Don’t look at where you fell, but where you tripped, who was there.

When your life started taking an upswing, rewind and check who came into your life at that time.

You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.

People we hang out with and chat to most of our time affects and influences us.

Their encounters and spirits are like fingerprints they leave on our soul.

Even when they are not there physically, the fingerprints remains imprinted on our soul.

Who you hang out with determines what you dream about and what you collide with.

And the collisions and the dreams lead to your changes.

And the changes are what you become.

Change the outcome by changing your circle.

When your circle gets smaller, your vision gets clearer.

Narrow your circle to people who will grow you, not eat you.
