You have scripted your pitch.
You got feedback and you have tightened it.
It flows, it is crisp, it makes sense.
You have highlighted the following:
- Pain
- Product
- The demonstration
- What makes your idea unique
- Traction
- How much funding you seek
- Your dream team
- Call to action
So what’s next?
Practice, practice, practice your pitch.
- Practice standing up just like you would in front of your audience
- Practice with your slides
- Practice using your clicker/remote
- Practice until you get on stage
- The more you practice, the less the fear
- Practice in front of other people, friends, family etc.
- Practice time [If your pitch is 5 minutes, practice your pitch for less than 5 minutes]
- Practice tone [don’t mumble or high pitched]
- Practice pace [don’t be too fast or too slow]
- Practice body language [posture, use of hands, eye contact, no finger-pointing]
- Practice over and over and over.
As Malcolm Gladwell says:
“Practice isn’t the thing you do once you’re good. It’s the thing you do that makes you good.”
